Kaila is a writer and associate-level marriage and family therapist. She hopes her stumbles, missteps, victories, and vulnerability can help others trying to navigate their mental health journey.

Kaila Miller started writing during COVID-19 when everyone joked that the lockdown made them want to write a book. She had her four kids at home and began writing the story from memory. She wrote Am I Changed? to chronicle her time at a therapeutic treatment program where she was exposed to further mistreatment as she shares a harrowing journey of abandonment and the desire to “get better” in a world that felt like it wanted her not to. She shares intimate details of what it felt like to be a teen in trouble rather than a troubled teen.
